TobiRecord

TobiRecord is a desktop screen recorder and editor for walkthroughs, product demos and tutorials. Instead of shipping raw footage to a motion designer just to add zooms, cursor polish or a styled background, it handles that whole workflow in one app. It runs natively on macOS (ScreenCaptureKit), Windows (Windows Graphics Capture) and Linux, records and edits entirely on your machine, and is planned to be released under the AGPL-3.0 licence.

What it does

  • Auto-zoom, cursor polish and styled frames — TobiRecord can emphasize activity with zoom suggestions, smooth out cursor movement, add motion effects, and drop the result into a framed composition with wallpapers, gradients, padding and shadows.
  • Webcam bubble overlays — add a webcam overlay, position and mirror it, and optionally have it react to zoom so it stays balanced during motion.
  • Timeline editing built for demos — drag-and-drop zooms, trims, speed regions, annotations and crop-aware edits; save and reopen work as project files.
  • Export to MP4 or GIF with a community-driven extension system for cursor sounds, device frames, browser mockups and more.

Everything runs locally — recording, editing and rendering happen on your own machine.
